Climate Protection in Yemen: Responsibility of All l By:Saleem Al-Saadani

Yemen is among the most vulnerable Arab countries to climate change, not to mention the enormous development challenges it faces, as well as frequent floods and droughts.
Climate change affects already scarce water supply - and makes it more scarce. Urban centers in Yemen are under severe water pressure, livelihoods of rural populations are at high risk, and they rely heavily on agriculture.
In the light of the challenges arising from climate change, Yemen was selected in nine countries around the world where a unified pilot project to participate in the World Bank's Climate Vulnerability Pilot Program is being implemented.
The program, supported by the Climate Investment Funds, aims to help countries manage the risks and opportunities arising from climate variability and change, taking into account those most exposed to these risks.
Unfortunately, in light of the difficult situation in Yemen since the outbreak of the war in March 2015, all projects and services in the country, which is suffering today from starvation and cholera, and death, which is harvesting its youth and women, have stopped the World Bank-funded climate project. .

Therefore, today Yemen is keen to review the climate change situation and its impact in the near future, if the situation continues as it is today, where climate and protection is one of the most important humanitarian duties on this land since everyone senses the problems of life and climate change. Which face the environment and its problems.
It is noted that many are working on the development of simple treatments in certain areas and neglect the other areas, and of course, the disaster if it will include everyone and will serve the entire region, and whatever solutions are still solutions patchwork and helpless and the threat to everyone and no one is safe from these risks or away from them.

Any environmental disaster that may occur will negatively affect everyone and even above expectations even those who are working hard to protect their environment and climate.

Yemen is one of the third world countries that suffer from neglect of the climate and the environment due to the difficult economic situation, political fluctuations and wars in Yemen, which have negatively impacted and turned into a terrible situation of climate deterioration and a significant increase in global warming and the spread of diseases such as cholera and dengue, especially in recent days Which has exceeded the incidence of cholera tens of thousands of people's lives are in danger.

Thus, a developing country such as our Yemen needs multiple projects to protect the climate and the environment in Yemen. The recent events have led to great paralysis in the electricity sector due to the cessation of the Marib gas stations to generate electricity and other stations covering Yemen from electricity, which led people to switch to solar energy as an alternative Imposed by the situation and not as a thoughtful and conscious choice.

Thus, the transformation of renewable energy in Yemen and the investment of the climatic environment in Yemen requires a deliberate, planned and encouraging government investment in the field of renewable energy to mitigate the risks of pollution resulting On the use of gasoline and factory waste.

In addition, it is necessary to urge citizens to plant trees in front of their homes and in public and private institutions, and to reduce the indiscriminate haze in villages and rural areas. Protecting nature reserves and stopping all those who work on indiscriminate logging, especially in Yemen's natural reserves, which are relatively protected to preserve the environment.
This will, of course, solve future problems, especially with regard to the drought that threatens the villages and the countryside. These solutions may be very reasonable and acceptable, as well as an end to the indiscriminate digging of wells, which has increased significantly in the area of dams. Recently.

Therefore, the state should pay attention to these areas and send the specialists of technicians, engineers and guides to the countryside to do their duty to reduce the phenomenon of random digging of wells, and also work to raise the awareness of the community not to waste water and reduce the excessive irrigation of trees. As mentioned above, the climatic problems vary, else.

Therefore, everyone has to be male and female, so that we can live in a safe environment and live for generations to come in a healthy and healthy environment that is not threatened by risks. It is a national, societal and international responsibility that everyone has the responsibility to live in a healthy environment and a healthy environment away from all these problems. Everyone is threatened.
